This talk was inspired by one of the films that will be screened in this year’s festival: The Taste of Things, which won the Best Director award for Tràn Anh Hùng at the Cannes Film Festival. After the screening of this film about food at Vural Cinema, there will be a discussion on food, passion, flavour and pleasure by sociologist Ferda Erdinç, the creator of Istanbul’s first vegetarian restaurant, Zencefil, where she introduced Istanbul to vegetables, sourdough bread and an array of spices.
