"Poor Things," is a curious and eager young woman's coming-of-age story. This film, which holds a unique position in Lanthimos' filmography with its visual aesthetics and references to cinema history, offers an accelerated narrative of female emancipation while also leading to an ideological rupture by changing the perspective of the novel it is adapted from, Alasdair Gray's.

Yorgos Lanthimos' return to the silver screen after a five-year hiatus, "Poor Things," premiered at the Venice Film Festival and received the Golden Lion award. Additionally, it won the Oscars for Best Actress (Emma Stone) and Best Costume Design.
