"Crossing the Bridge: The Sound of Istanbul," written and directed by Fatih Akın, delves deep into the Istanbul we live in. It vividly portrays the streets and places we frequently pass through but often fail to notice, with a striking narrative. Additionally, it allows us to hear the unheard sounds, making us feel Istanbul's true spirit and voice.
Musician Alexander Hacke doesn't speak any Turkish, but that doesn't hold him back from exploring Istanbul's cultural mosaic and harmonious sounds. He meets Selim Sesler here, and their communication develops through the language of music. Soon, many musicians and singers join this adventure, giving rise to Istanbul's polyphonic choir. Despite their different styles, their common goal becomes the most unifying feature: to create the song of Istanbul.
