Following Çatlak / Fractured, a film praised for its spare narration and the well sustained suspense in personal relations, Fikret Reyhan is back with his third film, Cam Perde / Glass Curtain which tells the story of a woman haunted by the shadow of her exhusband in a gripping plot.
The protagonists of the film are middleclass, self-employed urbanites. Problems await a recently divorced young woman who wants to start a new life with her child and boyfriend. Friends and family have opinions about this new stage in her life, and Nesrin will face challenges in her endeavour despite her determination.
Fikret Reyhan portrays the intricacies of 'social contracts' and how people bound with visible and invisible ties to each other can act carelessly when it comes to interfering with the lives of others. Paraphrasing Sartre: 'Hell is other people.'
