Almost Certainly False follows Hanna and her younger brother Nader, who have fled the war in Syria and now spend their days in Istanbul, hoping to reach Germany. In Dolapdere, Hanna supports them by working in a beauty salon, designing nails, while nurturing dreams of migration. One night she meets a young man named Ibo. What begins with passion soon forces her to choose between her identity, her desires, and her responsibility toward her brother.
